Difficulties Participants face during global business expansion

Exploration and Negotiation with Overseas Collaboration Partners
The understanding to the different regulations and market needs in each target region is crucial, given the complex nature of our solution.
We aim to attract new customers for pilot testing at our demo plant in Jakarta.
Regulations and Compliance for Overseas Expansion
Understanding local regulations and compliance requirements is essential in addition to building networks with local governments and companies.
Securing the necessary stakeholders for project financing and local project implementation, which requires individuals with strong and influential local connections, still remains a challenge, even after the on-site research into relevant challenges through this delegation program.

Feedbacks from participants

Network expansion with local government agencies and companies
We were able to expand our network with local government agencies and companies through this delegation program, which has greatly contributed to our business expansion.
The support provided was also both prompt and thorough, allowing us to focus on our activities with confidence and peace of mind.
Efficient negotiations thanks to the support from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government
We focused on establishing strong connections with key local stakeholders, which had been our greatest challenge during our overseas expansion.
It is much easier to secure appointments and present our business with confidence, as a startup that is selected and supported by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, providing us with a credible and trustworthy profile.
We were able to conduct a significant number of meetings and successfully acquire important stakeholders as the result.
A Clear Outlook for Expansion into Asia
Gaining a deeper understanding of the on-site challenges related to waste management and the introduction of renewable energy in Jakarta was one of the major achievement during this delegation program.
We were able to identify clear pathways to implement concrete PoC projects, through collaboration with organizations such as Pasar Jaya and local governments. This will be an extremely valuable asset for our future expansion into Asia.
Additionally, insights gained from interactions with other participating startups and experts have been beneficial in refining our fiber and resource-energy circulation model.
