Project Information

Topic On the road in front of Akihabara Radio Hall where pedestrians, bicycles, and vehicles are mixed in the same space, we will analyze the flow of hundreds of thousands of people using video data from security cameras and visualize risks, formulate a security plan based on visible risks, and verify the effectiveness of the plan.
Project site Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo
Product/service overview: Crime Nabi for Crowded Security is a crowd security service applying crime prediction AI that achieved a 69% reduction in crime after it was introduced in Brazil. AI analyzes human flow and spatiotemporal data to predict crowd risk and visualizes dangerous areas with a heat map. By quantitatively demonstrating risk and security effectiveness, it will assist in the development of optimal security plans and improve the safety of the city.
Expected effect Measurement of the effectiveness of appropriate security policies and plans to reduce the risk of accidents involving people, bicycles, and vehicles by visualizing the flow of people and to reduce the security burden on local residents, shops, and the police

We thought that our company's crime and accident analysis AI would be useful in addressing the issue of overtourism in Akihabara, and we wanted to proceed with this demonstration. I have three things to contribute: (1) security effectiveness can be estimated in detail at each time and place, (2) security costs can be optimized, and (3) the required level of security can be achieved with scientific evidence.

Together with Akihabara Town Management Co., Ltd. and Chiyoda Ward's Regional Development Department, we are working to improve the peace of mind of Akihabara by "visualizing" invisible concerns, supporting peace of mind, and contributing to the creation of community activity. Furthermore, we will establish this method as the first overtourism countermeasure model in Japan and apply it to crowd control of events around the world.
