PoC Overview

Urban Challenge of Helsinki Reduction of Environmental Impact by controlling Carbon Dioxide Emissions from Buildings
Solution Used for PoC Energy Efficiency Solutions for Buildings Using SQPV Glass
Solution Overview
  • Capable of generating electricity from various light sources such as sunlight, indoor lighting, and reflected light.
  • No battery replacement or periodic maintenance required
  • High heat shielding efficiency that offers better insulation compared to regular windows.

SQPV Glass

PoC Overview
  • Installation of SQPV glass windows capable of generating electricity from various light sources at the Maria 01 startup hub owned by the City of Helsinki (Office space for startup VCs, co-working space, and event spaces).
  • Verification of the power generation and heat shielding effects of SQPV glass under the climate of Helsinki (latitude 60.32 degrees, low light intensity and short-day-length environment).
  • Measuring the amount of CO2 reduction from the reduced power consumption through the installation. Verification of the further possible installation of SQPV glass in similar environment.
