Initial Report
WAmazing Inc. starts field trials from Thursday, December 2, 2021 at
Tokyo International Cruise Terminal.
The Tokyo International Cruise
Terminal opened in October 2020 to accommodate the growing size of cruise
ships. With the arrival of international cruise ships, it will be necessary
to provide services to share attractive information of Tokyo to foreign
tourists as well as support excursions and improve transportation convenience.
In its field trials, WAmazing installs vending machines for free SIM
cards and transportation tickets at the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal
and conduct survey to see how their service may support the future journey
of foreign travelers and verify the economic effect for the Cruise Terminal
The company also conducts survey on the needs of foreigners living overseas
when visiting Japan to examine the feasibility of their service.
The field trial will be carried out until the end of February 2022.
Final Report
The project of WAmazing Inc. at Tokyo International Cruise Terminal
was completed in 23rd of the March 2022 WAmazing, Inc. conducted a
survey on the contents of the services of the cruise support platform
in order to visualize the economic effects of the opening of the Tokyo
International Cruise Terminal and to examine the effects of increased
consumption through improved cruise convenience.
The survey was conducted
for foreign monitors who were expecting foreign visitors to Japan. According
to the results of the survey, most of the monitors answered that they would
actually like to use the tour support platform provided by WAmazing, Inc.,
which includes the transportation ticket reservation service, duty-free
EC service, and free SIM card.

WAmazing Inc.'s traffic ticket reservation service and duty-free e-commerce service were highly requested to be utilized by the monitors, and the expected economic effect exceeded the target value.

In the qualitative evaluation and comments from the monitor, it was confirmed that the free SIM card provided a foothold for the use of the platform and provided a smooth connection to traffic ticket reservations and duty-free e-commerce services. As for the transportation ticket reservation service, while there was a high need for excursions in Tokyo, there were also calls for wide-area excursions between Tokyo and Nagano. By selling tickets for both small and large areas and responding to the needs of both parties, we believe that this will improve the convenience of excursions and stimulate consumption by promoting tourism. With regard to the duty-free e-commerce service, we believe that providing procedure from purchase to duty-free procedure for those who have clearly decided in advance which brand to buy will generate more time for tourists and thus stimulate consumption.
Based on the above verification results, we believe that the excursion support platform service provided by WAmazing Inc, has a certain effect on improving convenience and stimulating consumption for foreign visitors to Japan. Responding to the needs regarding the content and delivery methods of the services revealed in this review will lead to the creation of further effects.
In the future, we will use the results of the effectiveness verification of this project to promote the introduction by public procurement.
