Edoga Inc.
Initial Report
Edga Inc. started the project at Tokyo Metropolitan Tanashi Technical High School on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is promoting the "Tokyo-type education model" to realize learning that maximizes the individuality and abilities of each student. We are working on the use of digital technology to develop professional human resources capable of responding to rapid technological innovation. Under the theme of understanding scaffold assembly and awareness of safety, students in the Department of Architecture will experience VR practical training at "KEIKEN CLOUD" of Edga to examine the effects of improving learning and reducing the burden on teachers.
The project will run until early February 2023.
Final Report
The project of Edga Inc. was completed in February 2023.
Using the company's VR learning platform "KEIKEN CLOUD," Edga gave students in the architecture department of Tanashi Technical High School a hands-on experience with a VR teaching tool that enables them to simulate temporary construction plans. Students who experienced the training were asked to evaluate the contents of the materials and the ease of operation using a questionnaire to verify the sophistication of prior learning when conducting dangerous practical training and the feasibility of education that cannot be experienced due to risks and resource constraints.
First, in the examination of the improvement of understanding through the use of VR materials, all the students who experienced it evaluated that the use of VR would contribute to the deepening of understanding of learning by and the consolidation of memory. It was also evaluated as contributing to learning about work processes in architecture.

In addition, all of the students who experienced the product evaluated that the use of VR would contribute to their understanding of hazards and risks on the construction site and their awareness of potential mistakes. Not only the qualitative evaluation, but also the changes in the heart rate of the students suggest that the VR is able to reproduce the work at high altitude and gives a sense of tension.
Does the use of VR materials improve understanding of the dangers and risks of work? (N=12)
Degree of change in heart rate during VR use
With regard to the effect of creating understanding in the industry where the training is conducted, it can be confirmed that VR has a certain effect of materializing the actual work site and business image, and it has the potential to increase interest in the job type and influence the job search. In addition, the use of cutting-edge technology in the field of architecture is expected to have a certain effect on interest and interest, and contribute to the development of human resources who will be responsible for the industry in the future.

Has there been increased interest in the use of X-Tech in architecture? (N=12)
Teachers who experienced the VR materials also expressed favorable opinions about the realism and content of VR, and all of them responded that using VR could reduce the preparation time for classes. Depending on the content and the frequency of classes, it may have a certain effect on reducing the load of teachers.
Based on the above verification results, we believe that the KEIKEN CLOUD provided by Edga is highly useful in verifying the advancement of education and the reduction of teacher load through the use of cutting-edge technology. On the other hand, in addition to the single content of scaffold safety education, we have also organized the necessary measures for dissemination, such as expanding the content in areas of high affinity and requiring product enrichment.
